Ganesh Festival or Vinayaka Chaturthi is a festival celebrated with great reverence by lots of Hindus. It is the day on which Shri Ganesha, is believed to bestow his presence on earth for all his devotees. An idol of Bhagwan Shri Ganesh is brought home ceremoniously for worship. Varieties of a sweets specially modaka or modakam is prepared and offered to Ganapati Bappa. Milk is also offered to lord Ganesha.

Fasting, long prayers, social gatherings, devotional music, and distribution of sweets offered to Lord Ganesh are important aspects of Ganesh chaturthi rituals in India. Hindus pray to their favorite Lord Ganesha, with faith and devotion so that he may remove all their obstacles.
The Ganesh idol is kept and worshipped in the house or pandal for a period of one and a half, five, seven, or ten days, and is then immersed in water.
