Nandi is the bull which Shiva rides and the gate keeper of Shiva in Hindu mythology. A statue of Nandi facing the main shrine will be seen in most Shiva temples and also in shrines of Shirdi Sai Baba. There are also a number of temples dedicated solely to Nandi.
Nice Nandi statue and I have seen one when I visited Mahanandi Temple in Kurnool district, Andhra Pradesh.
